Terms of Service
The service
ShopReels generates product videos and images from a merchant's own catalog, publishes the ones a merchant approves to that merchant's Shopify storefront, and reports playback and commerce metrics.
Approval and control
- Nothing is published to a storefront without an explicit approval by the merchant in the app.
- Every generated asset is checked against the source product image before it reaches the review queue. Assets that fail the check cannot be approved without an explicit, recorded override.
- A merchant can remove any published asset from the storefront at any time from within the app.
Plans, quotas, and billing
- Subscriptions are billed through Shopify Billing. Prices are shown in the app and on our home page.
- A video counts against a plan only when it is approved and successfully published. Failed generations, rejected candidates, and failed publishes are never charged.
- Usage is metered in qualified plays: a playback of at least two seconds, counted once per visitor per video per 24 hours.
- We never charge automatically for exceeding a limit. At a limit the app offers an upgrade; the storefront keeps working, with video playback switching to click-to-play.
- Cancelling stops future charges. Media already published to a store remains on that store and under the merchant's control.
Merchant responsibilities
Merchants must have the rights to the product images, brand assets, and any likeness they upload, and are responsible for the accuracy of published content and for compliance with advertising law in their markets.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to create content that infringes intellectual property, depicts a real person without permission, misrepresents a product, or violates Shopify's policies or applicable law.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as is, without warranty. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability in any 12 month period is limited to the fees paid in that period. Third-party model providers may change or interrupt their services; we will use reasonable efforts to keep generation working, but we do not guarantee any specific output.
Termination
A merchant may uninstall at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, with notice where practical.
